(Cedarville, OH) – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has said that more than 90% of ohio’s businesses are open, but there are some glaring examples of businesses that are still closed.
Sunday, the governor was asked by Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” when Cedar Point would reopen. He said, “Chuck, I have no idea when Cedar Point will be able to reopen. Our kids and grandkids love to go there, but we’re not there, yet.”
The governor said that Ohioans have done a great job of practicing social distancing, and wearing face coverings. He also agrees with the governor of North Dakota, who said in an emotional statement Friday that wearing a mask is not about politics, that people are “doing it because they've got a 5-year-old child who's been going through cancer treatments. They might have vulnerable adults in their life, who currently have Covid and they're fighting."
Governor DeWine said whether there will be a resurgence in COVID-19 cases all depends on what we do. DeWine said, “I have great confidence in Ohioans. We are really promoting wearing the masks, and keeping our distance as we open the economy.I think we can do two things at once.”
