Rocky River Police Blotter: Fight with Officers and Starbucks Run Gone Bad

5/11/20 OVI

On 5/11/20 at 11:45 pm police received a call about a car into a pole on Wooster Rd. On arrival Officers made contact with the driver, Mallory Wilson who was driving a 2019 Lincoln and stated she was going to Starbucks. Wilson, 33 years old of Rocky River had hit an electrical pole and run over a fire hydrant. Mallory Wilson displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for OVI. She was later released to a sober party and will face charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.

5/13/2020 Assist Fire Department

On 5/13/20 RRPD received a call about an active house fire on Beverly Hills Drive. On arrival it was determined that the fire had started in a bathroom vent. RRFD was on scene and able to extinguish the fire that had been contained to the attic. There were no injuries reported.

5/15/20 Fraud

On 5/15/20 a resident from Yacht Club Drive reported being the victim of a fraud. Officers determined that the female had received a call from a male who stated he was a deputy from the Cuyahoga County Sheriffs Office. The female purchased $5000.00 in gift cards before realizing she was the victim of a scam. Detectives are investigating.

5/16/20 OVI

On 5/16/20 RRPD received a call at 5:20 am about a male and female that appeared to be having a domestic dispute on Wright Ave in the street near a vehicle. When Officers arrived they were unable to locate any vehicle and as they were searching the area multiple calls were received about the same couple fighting on Scenic. Officers were able to locate the male who was sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle and the female who was on the sidewalk. Both appeared to be highly intoxicated and were uncooperative. The female, later identified at Kaitlin Berg, 19 years old of Olmsted TWP, refused to answer Officers questions and became very agitated and started fighting with Officers. Berg was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction. After being processed she was released to a sober party. The male, identified as Paul Uffelman, 40 years of North Olmsted was also uncooperative and showed signs of impairment. He was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence and held into sober. Both will face charges in the Rocky River Municipal Court.
