Bay Village Police Blotter: Don't Come To Electric Avenue

On May 5th, 2020 at 8:08pm, Bay Village Police were dispatched to Bay Methodist Church (Lake Road at Bassett Road) on report of vehicle crash into a tree, with injuries. Police arrived and found that the female operator, an 18 year-old Westlake resident, was under the influence of alcohol. Further, the female passenger, an 18 year-old Avon resident was also intoxicated. The operator failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. On station, the operator submitted to an intoxilyzer test, which showed a .172 blood alcohol content. The passenger was also taken into custody. Both are facing charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.

On May 6th, 2020 at 11:51am, Bay Village Police were dispatched to the 24000 block of Electric Ave on report of contractor who had taken down a power line. Police arrived and found that the dump truck operator had pulled the line from the home and it was resting on top of her vehicle, trapping her inside. Bay Police and Fire responded and made the area safe until CEI was able to power-down the line and remove the operator from the vehicle. The operator was not harmed during the incident.

On May 9th, 2020 at 3:22am, Bay Village Police noticed two underage individuals out past curfew in the area of Lake Road and Cahoon Road. Police detained the 17 year old male Avon resident, while his 15 year old girlfriend, a Bay Village resident, decided to run from police. After a short search and investigation, police found the female nearby. Both parties were turned over to their respective parents with a strong warning from police and an assurance of parental discipline.
