Bay Village Police Blotter: Fraud and Auto Theft

On April 7, 2020 at 12:09pm, Bay Village Police were dispatched to the lobby on report of a fraud. Police arrived and spoke with a Wolf Road couple who reported that three of their Key Bank accounts were fraudulently accessed. The couple is working with Key Bank and Bay Village Detectives on the $900 worth of charges.

April 10, 2020 at 12:50pm Bay Village Police were dispatched to take a report of a theft from auto. The Cahoon Road resident reported that someone entered her unlocked auto in the overnight hours and stole a Nintendo Switch, controllers and five games. Police are investigating.

On April 10, at 4:10pm, Bay Village Police were dispatched to speak to an Electric Road resident to take a fraud report. The resident reported that someone had used her social security number to file an unemployment claim. The resident is still employed and has not had any other financial accounts accessed. She was referred to the credit bureaus, Federal Trade Commission and the Social Security Administration for further assistance.
