North Olmsted Couple Accused of Stealing, Hitting Cop Arrested

North Olmsted - After days on the run, officers have arrested the North Olmsted couple who are accused of injuring an officer after trying to get away from police after shoplifting.

Authorities say Jamal Samhan and Krystalyn Marcum were caught at a home at West 126th Street and Lorain Avenue.

Police say that the Samhan had ran out of the home, trying to escape but was caught. Marcum was found inside of the home hiding under a bed.

The vehicle used in the assault, a grey Kia Sportage, was found behind the garage.

North Olmsted police say an off-duty officer, who was working security, saw Marcum leaving the store with several stolen items last week.

When he approached her, that's when Marcum jumped in the waiting Kia Sportage, driven by Samhan, and drove away, hitting the officer in the process.

The good news, the officer only suffered a mild concussion and is expected back at work Tuesday.
