Pastor Darrell Scott tells WTAM News he was instrumental in submitting the paperwork to President Trump that paved the way for Trump to grant clemency to former San Francisco 49er's owner Eddie DeBartolo Jr. White House spokesman Hogan Gidley made the announcement on Tuesday during an impromptu briefing outside the west wing. DeBartolo ceded control of the 49er's in the last 1990's after pleading guilty to a felony charge in a corruption case involving former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards. DeBartolo never served any prison time but paid a hefty fine.

The 49er's won five Super Bowls under DeBartolo.
