Bay Village Police Blotter: Car vs. City Plow

On 01/20/2020, at 0119 hrs, BVPD received a call from a city plow driver reporting there was an occupied car parked on Bruce near Park, and the vehicle was refusing to move for him.BVPD responded and the vehicle was occupied by an 18-yoa male.Officers suspected there were drugs in the car and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.Officers located marijuana, prescription drugs, and alcohol inside the vehicle.The Lakewood resident was arrested and later released after posting bond. He will face charges at RRMC.

On 01/19/2020, at 0257 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Wolf Rd. near Cahoon for a traffic violation.After speaking with the 23-yoa driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. The Avon Lake resident will face charges at RRMC.

On 01/19/2020, at 1425 hrs, a Queenswood resident reported that someone had stolen his identity. Police are investigating.

On 01/16/2020, at 1153 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle for traffic violation on Lake Rd. near Porter Creek.After speaking with the 55-yoa driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered, and as result, the driver was arrested for OVI. The Westlake resident will face charges at RRMC.

On 01/16/2020, at 0908 hrs, BVPD received a call from a resident in the 23000 block of East Oakland indicating she believed her neighbor’s house was being broken into. Responding officers located a male in the driveway that was not the resident.The male worked for a repossession company and was there to repossess the homeowner’s vehicle, but the vehicle was not there. He was advised of the complaint. BVPD reminds residents to call the Police immediately if you see something suspicious.
