Bay Village Police Blotter: Lock Your Cars

On October 31st, Bay Village Police received numerous reports of cars that were broken into in the area of Lincolnshire and Sandalwood. Police responded to the area and began a neighborhood canvass where additional victims were found. The one common factor among the cars that were entered were that they were not locked. No locked vehicles were entered. A couple of days later, Lakewood PD notified BVPD that they stopped and arrested a male in their city for stealing from cars. The suspect had items belonging to Bay Village residents in his car. Bay Village Detectives are investigating the extent of these crimes and charges are pending. The Bay Village Police highly encourage residents to lock their vehicles overnight and to remove all items of value from sight.

On November 3, at 2:11am, Bay Village Police stopped a vehicle on Bradley Road, north of Wolf Road for several moving violations. The male operator, a 40 year-old Bay Village resident, was under the influence of alcohol. The male failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. On station, the male refused to submit to a breath test. He is facing multiple charges in Rocky River Municipal Court.
