Revival of Cuyahoga River Program Featured at Tri-C

Westlake - An upcoming program at the Westshore Campus of Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) will examine the environmental resurgence of the Cuyahoga River since the waterway’s infamous 1969 fire.

The topic is the focus of the latest “Learning for Life” lecture series event at the campus. The free program takes place Oct. 15.

The presentation will reflect on the work that transformed the Cuyahoga’s once-polluted waters into a healthier river that now stands as a powerful symbol for the environmental movement.

The discussion will be led by Scott Hardy, an extension educator with Ohio Sea Grant. The organization works with Lake Erie coastal groups and communities to solve pressing environmental and economic issues.

The free program begins at 6 p.m. in room 310 of the Liberal Arts and Technology building at Westshore Campus, located at 31001 Clemens Road in Westlake. Registration is requested, but not required.
