Fairview Park Police Blotter: Drunk, Tired and Vomiting In A Police Cruiser

August 23, 2019 Felony Theft, Westgate, 1422hrs.

Kohls’ loss prevention officer observed a male and female steal over $2300.00 in merchandise from their store. The pair fled from Westgate in a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. A Rocky River Police Officer spotted the car as it was getting on I-90 eastbound at Hilliard Blvd. The vehicle refused to stop and sped away. A brief pursuit ended when the subject vehicle began driving in a reckless manner. Investigators are following up on leads to identify the parties involved.

August 24, 2019 Disturbance W. 228 St. and Lorain Rd, 0237 hrs.

Officers responded to the report of a fight near the intersection of W.228 St. and Lorain. As officers approached the area they saw a car flea the area driving left of center westbound on Lorain Rd. The vehicle was stopped just into North Olmsted. The disturbance had ended before officers arrived and it could not be determined if the occupants of the vehicle was involved. The 22 year old Cleveland female driving the car was cited for the traffic violation. A 21 year old Garfield Heights female passenger had several warrants for her arrest and was taken into custody turned over to the Brunswick Police on a traffic warrant.

August 25, 2019Disorderly Conduct, W. 210 St. and Westwood, 0257hrs.

The Police were dispatched to the area of Westwood and W 210 St for a report of a belligerent male yelling at two females who then ran south on W 210 towards Lorain Rd. . While searching the area, they observed 29 year old Fairview Park male lying on the outside steps of Westwood Ave home. He was breathing heavily and covered in vomit.

The male told officers he had been drinking in the flats and had walked home and he wanted to sleep in the grass He had red, glassy eyes, the smell of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, slurred speech and was extremely unsteady on his feet. The male was arrested for Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication. He was handcuffed and placed in the rear of a police car. While being transported to the station, he vomited on the seat of the cruiser. Once on station, he was booked, issued a citation and held until he was sober.
