When The Proud Boys take on ANTIFA, Nobody Wins

The Proud Boys make for an easy villian. The far-right, neo-fascist, and all-male group and their founder Gavin McInnes openly promote political violence to anyone who disagrees or threatens their "western values." Images of torch-wielding young white men in Charlottesville will be forever burned into the minds of most Americans. But, there was a second group who was at the "Unite the Right" rally that night.

ANTIFA, the far-left group of militant anti-fascists has been counter-protesting against the Proud Boys every step of the way, especially since the election of President Trump. While it may be easier to identify with a group whose stated purpose is to fight fascism, ANTIFA is not the noble group of revolutionaries that they, and some members of the press, claim. They are have been known to engage in digital activism, property damage, physical violence, and harassment against those whom they deem as fascist, racist, or on the far-right.

While fighting for their cause, ANTIFA is becoming what they hate. The group that was originally created to fight against fascists in Mussolini's Italy has engaged in the same intimidation, destruction, and violence that they were created to combat.
