Westlake Police Blotter: Help ID Two Suspects, Motorcycle Accident & More

On 7/10/19 at approx. 6:30PM a complainant reported to WPD that she believed she had lost her debit card in the area of Chipotle at Crocker and Detroit in Westlake.Unfortunately the victim then discovered that her card was used for purchases at a Shoppers World and Family Dollar Store in Cleveland.Officers tracked down surveillance of the perpetrators.Westlake Detectives are looking to identify the 2 white male suspects who used the debit card illegally.If you recognize either of the men or have additional information please contact the Westlake Police Department non-emergency phone number at 440-871-3311.Det Fox is the investigator.

On 8/2/19 at approx. 5PM officers were summoned to Lakewood Country Club for a report of a disoriented elderly female sitting in a vehicle in the lot.The victim, a 93yo who was alone in the vehicle, said that she was waiting for her mother and father.Officers also noted that it was 80 degrees outside and the vehicle was parked in the sun.A rescue squad was called to transport her to the hospital.The daughter, a 61yo from East Cleveland who also had an active warrant from Parma PD, was contacted.It was learned that she had been visiting an estate sale in the neighborhood.A report was generated for prosecutor review for charges of Nonsupport of Dependents.Adult protective services was contacted in an attempt to get the family county support.

On 8/2/19 at about 8PM officers stopped a vehicle at Crocker and Detroit Rds for a license violation.When speaking with the male driver and female passenger, the passenger admitted to having a handgun in the car.She did have a CCW permit but said she did not notify the officers when they first made contact because she had been using “Facetime” on her phone.A loaded semi-auto handgun was recovered from the car.The passenger, a 31yo Westlake resident was arrested for misdemeanor improper handling of a firearm.The driver, a 28yo Westlake resident who had been previously convicted of felony drug possession and drug trafficking, was arrested for having weapons under disability.

On 8/7/19, while officers were at the Super 8 on Sperry to investigate another incident, a male walking around the hotel was acting out of the ordinary.Of course the officers took notice and made contact with the 35yo from North Olmsted.He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.The male was placed into custody for felony possession.

On 8/8/19 at approx. 10:30AM officers discovered that a male with an entered warrant from our department was staying at the Super 8 on Sperry.Officers stopped a vehicle leaving the area that was occupied by a male driver and female passenger.The driver was identified as a 35yo Cleveland resident with warrants for his arrest.The female also had entered warrants for dangerous drugs from Cuyahoga County.Both were arrested for their warrants and were also charged with misdemeanor offenses for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

On 8/8/19 at about 10:30AM officers responded to Westlake Village for a report of a theft.Maintenance reported that 2 air conditioning units, valued at over $5000 were taken from a loading dock.Investigators are following up with a suspect.

On 8/8/19 at approx. 8:32PM officers responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Lansing Dr.The 1 vehicle accident resulted in serious injuries to the rider who ended up being flown by helicopter from St. John Medical Center.The accident is still under investigation but alcohol is not suspected to be a factor at this time.
