Immigration raids in Mississippi netted hundreds of arrests Wednesday Police swooped through seven Mississippi chicken processing plants, arresting 680 mostly Latino workers. The acting director of ICE says that the raids could be the largest thus far in any single state, planned months ago. One of the companies is Illinois based Koch Foods, one of the largest poultry producers in the U.S. At the plant in Morton, a tearful 13-year-old boy whose parents are from Guatemala waved goodbye to his mother, a Koch worker, as he stood beside his father. Some employees tried to run away but were captured in the parking lot.
