Rocky River Police Blotter: Road Rage, OVI's & Newburg Hts Man Busted

  • On 05/07/2019 at about 10:15 PM, a caller reported being involved in a road-rage incident that began on Interstate-90 and ended on Hilliard Blvd. at Wagar Rd. when one driver exiting his vehicle and brandished a semi-automatic handgun, causing the complainant to be fearful. Both parties came to the police department after the incident. After an investigation, Joseph Riccardi, 42-years-old from Fairview Park, was arrested for Aggravated Menacing and Daniel Gentile, 31-years-old from Euclid, was cited for Disorderly Conduct. 2019-00767 Incident & Booking are attached. 
  • On 05/09/2019 at about 10:25 AM a caller reported his iPhone XS MAx was stolen from a table at Taco Bell, 21805 Center Ridge Rd., the day before at about 11:00 AM. Taco Bell staff is awaiting security company review of video. 2019-00773 Incident is attached. 
  • On 05/10/2019 at about 12:15 PM police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Center Ridge Rd. east of River Oaks Dr. During the investigation, reporting officers observed indicators that one of the drivers was under the influence of a drug and, after field testing, Carl Rice, 40-years-old from Newburgh Hts., was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving under suspension, and failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. 2019-00778 Incident & Booking are attached. 
  • On 05/11/2019 at about 2:50 AM police stopped a motorist for marked lanes and signalling intention violations on Detroit Rd between Northview and Wagar Rd. When talking with the driver, police observed indications of alcohol impairment. After field testing, Nathan Roldan, 21-years-old from Rocky River, was arrested for drunk driving and driving under suspension from a prior drunk driving offense. 2019-00786 Incident & Booking are attached. 
  • On 05/12/2019 at about 4:35 AM police observed to cars on Wagar Rd. at Hilliard Blvd. appear to switch drivers. One car, a sedan, was stopped for an improper turn and the second car, an SUV stopped with it. There was damage to both cars consistent with a rear-end collision. The driver of the sedan explained that she and her boyfriend went to pick-up her mother in Cleveland because she had been drinking. The mother decided to follow them home and rear-ended them on Wagar at Hillard Blvd. The boyfriend then began to drive the SUV, and that is when police stopped them. After field testing, the driver of the SUV, 47-year-old Renata Thompson from Cleveland, was arrested for drunk driving and also charged with assured clear distance ahead and possession of marijuana. 2019-00791 Incident & Booking are attached.
