Newburgh Heights Police Warn Of People Crossing I-77

Newburgh Heights - A bit of an unusual warning from the boys in blue in Newburgh Heights.

The police department says since the closure of the Harvard Avenue bridge at I-77, officers have fielded numerous complaints of people cutting across the highway.

The department has issued an official statement, saying that not only is this illegal, but also represents a significant danger to not only the individuals walking but to motorists who are driving on I-77.

As a response, there has been an increase in police presence near the bridge in an effort to stop the illegal crossing.

Officers again asking people to use common sense, and find a different route around the interstate.
