Solon, OH - OVI/Prohibited BAC/Driving Under Suspension: (30000 Solon Rd) April 12th. 2019 at 10:43 PM. While on routine patrol a Solon Police performed a registration check of a vehicle and discovered that the owner of the vehicle was currently under an OVI suspension. A traffic stop was conducted and the operator was also the owner of the vehicle. The operator was discovered to have a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person and vehicle. His eyes had a glassy effect and were bloodshot. When questioned he did admit to consuming “a pint”. A series of field tests were perform which indicated that the operator was impaired. The operator, Paul Ford, 60 years old from Euclid was arrested and taken to the Solon Correction Center. A breath test was administered with a reading of .165.

Physical Control/Prohibited BAC/Open Container: (34320 Aurora Rd.) April 12th, 2019 at 11:08 PM. A Solon Police Officer on patrol behind Office Max observed a vehicle parked behind the business. The officer approached the vehicle and discovered the keys in the ignition in the on position. The male in the driver’s seat stated that he was waiting to pick up a relative from a church down the road. While conversing, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. There was also a drinking glass in the center console containing a liquid. When asked, the driver denied drinking any alcohol. As the officer and a back-up officer re-approached the car they discovered that the glass from the center console was now missing. When confronted the operator indicated that he threw in on the floor. The operator was removed from the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests. While exiting an open bottle of vodka was observed protruding from under the driver’s seat. The results of the field tests indicated that the operator was impaired. James Ogle, 46 of Solon was arrested and taken to the Solon Correction Center. A breath test was administered and the results were .107.

Obstructing Official Business/Open Container/Driving Under Suspension: (33599 Aurora Rd.) April 13th, 2019 at 5:14 PM.A Solon Police officer on patrol performed a registration check of a vehicle and was alerted that the owner had an active warrant in Solon. The owner was seen in the front passenger seat. A traffic stop was conducted in the parking lot of Chipotle. The passenger was confirmed as the wanted person. After returning to the patrol car to check the other occupants, the driver exited the vehicle and ran from the scene. The male ran across Aurora Rd. and behind businesses on Aurora Rd. The male surrendered to Solon Police Officers when confronted. Arrested was Deonte Sumlin, 27 of Bedford Hts. Sumlin was charged with Driving Under Suspension, Obstructing Official Business and Open Container of Alcohol. Mr. Sumlin also had 3 outstanding warrants.

Receiving Stolen Property/Driving Under Suspension/Tinted Windows/Open Container (Cochran Rd.). April 13th. 2019 at 8:00 PM. A Solon Police Officer on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Cochran Rd. for a window tint violation. The operator was found to be driving under suspension and have outstanding warrant. The front seat passenger also had outstanding warrants. During an inventory of the vehicle an officer discovered an open container of alcohol and a fanny pack containing Marijuana and suspected Heroin. All parties denied ownership of the fanny pack. An inventory of the trunk uncovered a loaded pistol which was reported stolen from Cleveland. The owner of the vehicle arrived on scene to claim the vehicle and was also found to have outstanding warrants. The driver, D’Andre Stevenson, 24 from Cleveland was arrested and taken to the Solon Correction Center. He was charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Driving under Suspension, Open Container, Window Tint and Drug Possession.

Disorderly Conduct/Obstruction of Official Business/Falsification: (6185 Enterprise Pkwy)April 13, 2019 at 11:35. While working off duty security at the Movie Theatre a patron approached and advised the officer that there were two people engaging in a sex act in the theatre. The officer entered the theatre and witnessed a female performing oral sex on a male. They were removed from the theatre and taken to the lobby. The female was identified as a 16 year old from Solon. The male provided a false name, address and birthdate which was discovered when a family member responded to assume custody of him. The male was found to be a 16 year old from Cleveland Hts.

OVI/Hit Skip: (34310 Aurora Rd.) April 15th 2019 at 3:24 PM. Solon Police Officers responded to the parking lot of the Market District to investigate a report of a possible impaired driver who struck another vehicle and left the scene. Witnesses on scene stated that they watched as the driver of the vehicle struck a parked vehicle and then parked and went into the store. Store surveillance showed the female having a difficult time walking from her vehicle to the store. Video footage from inside the store show the same female proceed to the liquor store and purchase vodka. She then departs the store, enters her vehicle and departs without leaving her information on the parked vehicle as required by law. A witness provided the license plate information. Officers responded to the address and witnessed the vehicle backing out of a parking spot and relocating to another spot. Responding officers spoke with the driver and after a brief conversation felt that she was possibly impaired. When questioned about taking any medication she denied that she had and also denied consuming alcohol. A series of field sobriety tests were conducted which indicated impairment. The driver, Natalie Depinto, 46 from Solon was arrested and taken to the Solon Correction Center. At the correction center she refused to submit to a breath test but insisted that she was below .08.
