Solon Police Blotter: March 15th, 2019

Physical Control 6170 SOM Ctr. (True North) : March 9th., 2019 at 2:41 AM. Solon Police officers were dispatched to the True North gas station for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The complainant reported that the vehicle had been parked at one of the pumps for about an hour. The caller tried to get the drivers attention using the speaker system to no avail. Responding officers located the vehicle in question. Upon speaking with the operator, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was found to be emanatingfrom the interior of the car. Also observed was an open can of beer on the front passenger seat. When asked how long she had been parked there the driver replied “not long”. When asked about dinking she stated “not a lot”. The driver was removed from the vehicle and asked to perform field sobriety tests. The results of these tests indicated that she was impaired. The driver, Erin Anderson, 25 of Solon, was arrested and transported to the Bedford Hts. police station.At the Bedford Hts.Ms. Anderson submitted to a breath test which resulted in a .150 reading. Ms. Anderson was charged with Physical Control, Prohibited BAC, and open container.

OVI 30003 Bainbridge Rd.: March 11th., 2019 at 5:06 PM. Solon Police responded a report of a motor vehicle crash in the area of 30003 Bainbridge Rd. While conducting the investigation the officer noticed that one of the drivers had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about him. His eyes were bloodshot and had a glassy effect. When questioned about his consumption of alcohol, the driver denied drinking but had been drinking the night before. He was asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests. These tests indicated that he was impaired. Christopher Roth, 50 of Strongsville was arrested and transported to Bedford Hts. jail to perform a breath test. Mr. Roth submitted to the breath test which resulted in a .226 BAC. During a inventory of his vehicle grape soda bottle was discovered which smelled of an alcoholic beverage. Mr. Roth admitted that it was gin and grape soda. Mr. Roth was charged with Assured clear distance, OVI, Prohibited BAC and open container of alcohol.
