Pat Catan's Arts And Crafts Stores To Close

(Irving, TX) - Pat Catan's, long known in northeast Ohio for its selection of arts and crafts materials, will be closing all its 36 stores in four states.

Pat Catan's has been owned by rival Michaels since 2016. When the then-Strongsville-based Catan's was purchased by Michaels, all the Catan's stores were kept open.

Michaels says it will close all 36 Pat Catan's stores, of which 12 will be re-branded and re-opened as Michaels. They have not said which of the Catan's stores will be reopening as Michaels.

Even though the Pat Catan's name will be gone from the front of the store, Michaels says it's looking into way to continue using the brand. They will also continue running a Strongsville-based support center for the wholesale business which was acquired with the purchase of the Catan's chain.
