Younger Drivers Recognize Emoji, But Not Dashboard Warning Light

(Akron) - A study commissioned by Goodyear says that younger drivers can identify emojis more easily that one of the warning lights on their car's dashboard.

The survey of 1,000 drivers said that 49% of millennials and Generation Z drivers, along with 39% of all drivers could not recognize the dashboard symbol for a tire pressure problem, which looks like the cutout of a flat tire with an exclamation mark inside.  At the same time 85% of younger drivers could recognize the eye roll emoji.

The warning light in your car comes on after sensors in a car's tires determine a loss of air pressure, which can be due to tire punctures, rim damage, and changing temperatures.
