On 12/20/2018, at 01:18 hours, an officer on routine patrol stopped a 1997 Honda Civic on Lake Road, near Porter Creek Drive, for several traffic violations. While speaking to the driver, the officer noted the odor of marijuana emitting from the inside of the Civic. The probable cause search of the vehicle yielded several pill vials, pills, a white powdery substance and a container with marijuana residue. These items will all be sent out for testing. The driver, a 23-year old male from Lorain, was issued a ticket for No Operator’s license and advised of possible additional charges pending the results of the testing. His 20-year old female passenger from Elyria was allowed to drive the car, after it was jump started by the officers using the jump pack from the police station.
On 12/21/2018, at 17:49 hours, officers were dispatched to a home on Wolf Road, near Columbia, after a female called to report she was having a domestic with her husband. Responding officers found the 61-year old caller waiting in the driveway. She said she needed her husband to leave the house before she, “killed him”, but later said she struck him with a small claw hammer in order to “prevent him from leaving”. The 68-year old husband did admit that his wife struck him with the hammer, mostly on the back and arms. The wife was arrested for Domestic Violence.
On 12/23/2018, at 15:08 hours, officers were dispatched to area of 26725 Lake Road on the report of a male staggering around an older red truck parked on Lake Road. When officers arrived, they found a 79-year old male from Cleveland sitting in 1997 Silverado parked on Lake Road. After talking to the driver, officers suspected him to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs of abuse. After failing field sobriety tests, he was arrested for DWI. At the station he was processed, provided a breath sample of 0.193 and later released on bond to a family member.
