(Lynhurdst, OH) -- Anyone who wants to become a firefighter in Northeast Ohio should apply now. That's because departments in five cities say they have jobs available immediately. South Euclid, Pepper Pike, Mayfield Heights, Highland Heights and Lynhurst are banding together to help fill the holes and will host a joint entrance exam on December 12th. Leaders say anyone who takes the test will be considered by all five departments. The shortage in applicants is contributed to hiring freezes and the 2008 economic recession.
