Free Defensive Driving Class For Teen Drivers

(Elyria) – This weekend, teenage drivers can take advantage of a free four-hour course in defensive driving, which will include time behind the wheel in a controlled situation.  The program called B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe), is sponsored by Kia Motors, and was founded by Top Fuel drag racing champion Doug Herbert, in honor of his sons, who lost their lives in a car crash 10 years ago.

The program’s Matt Reilly says that student drivers will learn a lot in four hours, including how to handle a car better in slippery conditions, and defensive driving skills that will help prevent accidents.

There are four, four-hour sessions that will be open Saturday and Sunday at Lorain County Community College in Elyria.  All the sessions are free, but pre-registration s necessary.
