(Lakewood) - A person who was on the railroad tracks at Cook Avenue in Lakewood was hit by a freight train early Monday morning and died.
The person was hit by the passing train about 2:30 a.m. The victim's name hasn't been released yet.
While the investigation went on, the freight train was stopped, and a number of railroad crossings on north-south streets north of Detroit Ave. were blocked off by the train. The train was moved away around 7 a.m.
