Cleveland Food Bank receives $70,000 donation

(Cleveland) - Today, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank received a $70,000 contribution from Citizens Bank toward their School Market Program at Garrett Morgan High School Market on the city's Ohio City neighborhood.

The markets at select schools are held monthly for students and families can choose free, nutritious food to fuel minds and bodies.

The School Market Program’s components include distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables, nutrition and health education, physical fitness and more.

Students and families can pick up food conveniently during their school’s monthly market, just as they would from a local pantry.

Citizens Bank’s support of the new School Market Program will help provide critical funding to at-risk children throughout the region.

The program will be available at 40 Cleveland schools this year. With the support of Citizens Bank, the program was expanded to 11 new sites in 2018 and is expected to expand to another five sites in 2019.
