(Cleveland) - Coaches and representatives of Cavs Academy, the official youth basketball program of the Cavaliers, are finishing up a week-long visit to the city of Lanzhou in Gansu, China.
Cavs Academy was invited by the Gansu Government and Gansu Basketball Association to visit and promote youth sports and the spirit of Cavaliers and NBA basketball to local students.
During the visit, the Cavs Academy team is hosting educational panel discussions, performing basketball skills and drills, and working to build partnerships to create future opportunities for more international students to experience Cavs Academy.
In January of 2018, Cavs Academy hosted its first international basketball camp in Cleveland, Ohio for over 100 students from Gansu, China.
The students spent a week in Cleveland where they focused on learning the fundamentals of basketball, attending a Cavs game where the students performed a traditional Chinese dance at halftime, sightseeing the city, interacting with local youth basketball players from Northeast Ohio and more.
