(Cleveland) – Lots of communities held parades to commemorate Independence Day, including the 29th Annual 4th of July Parade sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. Marchers included government officials and candidates, civic groups, church groups, and local businesses.
There was one noticeable thing this year. A police helicopter flew overhead during the parade, possibly providing extra security in the wake of this week’s arrest of a Maple Heights man on charges that he wanted to plot to set off bombs downtown during 4th of July fireworks.
