One Dead In E. 125th St House Explosion (UPDATE)

CLEVELAND - Fire, Police and Emergency service crew are at the scene of a home explosion at 1067 East 125th Street on Cleveland's east side.

The East Cleveland Police Department confirms that the explosion occurred around 12:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon .

Neighboring home to house explosion

One woman has been confirmed dead by Cleveland firefighters.  A man suffered severe burns and has been transported for care.

Sergeant Jennifer Ciaccia, Public Information Officer with the Cleveland Division of Police tells WTAM 1100,  the initial call was for wires down.

When first responders arrived witnesses reported a natural gas odor,  leading fire crews to spray down several surrounding homes. Between 5 and 8 neighboring houses remain evacuated as a precaution.
