Transformational Program Announcing Enrollment

BRECKSVILLE  – Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio (gotrNEO) announces site enrollment for its fall program is now open. The application period runs through June 30, 2018.

The 10-week program emphasizes competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in young girls through lessons that incorporate running and other physical activities. The combination of the research-based curriculum, trained coaches and a commitment to serve all girls is what sets Girls on the Run apart from other after-school activities. “The Girls on the Run program builds the foundation for confident women in the future,” commented Director, Robyn Cutler of Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio. “A recent independent study found evidence that the program has been shown to create transformative and lasting change in the lives of third to fifth grade girls,” added Cutler.

“All that is needed to bring a site to your area is passion,” shared Cutler. “We can walk you through the process and give you the tips and tools you need to be successful and empower the next generation of women!”

There are two programs available, one for 3rd-5th grade girls and another for 6th-8th graders, both of which can be brought to any community in the organization’s six counties simply by completing an online application. Contrary to its name, Girls on the Run is more than a running program. Upon completion of the program, 97 percent of girls said they learned critical life skills that they are using at home, at school and with their friends.
