Bay Village Police Blotter: Driver Had No Idea Where She Was

On 05/17/2018, at 21:10 hrs, a motorist called to report a red Kia operating westbound on Lake Road in the area of Huntington Beach. The caller specifically stated that the Kia was driving left of the double yellow centerline, almost struck a curb and was traveling in the opposing lanes of travel. An officer was eastbound on Lake Road and observed the Kia traveling westbound in the eastbound lane. Once the officer had the vehicle stopped, the 23-year old female from Cleveland told the officer she was looking for 480. When told she was in Bay Village she replied, “I never heard of that.” After failing field sobriety tests, she was arrested for suspicion of OVI. After processing at the station, she was released on bond to a sober adult.

On 05/16/2018, at 14:51 hrs, a resident in the 24500 block of Bruce Road came to the station to report a theft. A subcontracted flooring company, Flawless Floors, had installed flooring in the victim’s home. The subcontractor said he was looking for additional work. On May 2nd, the victim gave him $1,221.00 in cash in order to purchase materials. Now she cannot locate the receipt and suspects the subcontractor took it with him. Since that time, the victim has been getting the runaround from the male, with conflicting stories of why he has not yet returned with the materials, or the cash. Investigation is pending.
