Parma Police Release Video of Booking of Dad Accused of Killing Child

(Parma) - Police have released video of the arrest of 41-year-old Jason Shorter, who walked into the Parma Police department on Saturday, approached an officer at the front desk, and said he wanted to turn himself in for a crime.

Shorter, who had self-inflicted cuts on both arms, told police that his 18-month-old son, Nicholas, was in his car, which was parked outside.

The baby was found inside the car's trunk, unresponsive, and not breathing.  He appeared to have been stabbed in the chest.  Nicholas was pronounced dead at UH Parma Hospital.

Jason Shorter has been charged with Nicholas' death, but the case remains under investigation by Parma Police.
