Rocky River Police Blotter: Fake ID And Drugs

  • On 04/26/2018 at about 6:25 PM police responded to the Presidential Apartments after it was reported smoke was coming from under the door of one of the units and no one answering the door. Entry was made to the unit and food was burning on the stove. There was no fire and the unit was ventilated by the Fire Department. It was determined that the resident left the apartment and forgot food was on the stove. 
  • On 04/26/2018 at about 11:05 PM police stopped a car for traffic violations on Interstate-90 and discovered the registered owner, a 23-year-old Lorain man, had a suspended driver's license and a BMV confiscation order on the license plates. During an inventory of the vehicle. a loaded 9 mm handgun was located in the trunk of the vehicle; the driver did not have a concealed handgun permit. He was charged with Driving Under Suspension, Improper Handling of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, and other traffic offenses. 
  • On 04/27/2018 at about 9:00 PM an officer watching a Lake Rd. convenience store saw what he believed was a young man under twenty-one years old purchase several types of alcohol. A traffic stop identified the driver as a twenty-year-old Bay Village man. In addition to beer and other alcohol, he had a false ID card with him. His passenger, a nineteen-year-old Bay Village woman, was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were cited.
