(Streetsboro) - A 13-year-old boy is charged with aggravated murder in the shooting death of his 11-year-old brother.
Streetsboro Police and Fire crews were called out to a house on Alden Drive Monday night on a report of a young boy having been shot. That 11-year-old boy died at University Hospitals Ravenna.
Police questioned the dead boy's 13-year-old brother, and say the teen shot the younger boy in what appears to be a "premeditated act." The gun was stolen from the home of the teen's grandfather.
The 13-year-old is being held at the Portage County Juvenile Detention Center. Streetsboro Police have not confirmed the names of either boy.
The Streetsboro Schools tweeted this statement:
Last night we lost one of our 5th graders in a tragic incident. Grief counselors will be available at Henry Defer Intermediate and the Middle School. State testing at those buildings is cancelled for today.
