Wickliffe - Wickliffe Police say a two year old girl was shot and killed Friday night in what appears to have been a tragic accident.
The Department reported on its Facebook Page that they were called to a Euclid Avenue hotel around 10:58PM along with paramedics.
The first officers who arrived on the scene performed CPR on the little girl, and she was taken to Lake West Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Their initial investigation "indicates that the child's mother was handling a firearm when it discharged and the child was struck in the chest."
Police say the mother legally owned the weapon and is a concealed carry permit holder.
Police say all indications are that the shooting was accidental.
A full investigation is underway.
They are not releasing any names at this time.
