CLEVELAND - A Bedford alternative school principal has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of having sex with a student.
Courtney Alfred faces nine counts of felony sexual battery for encounters w/ the 17-year-old during the 2016-17 school year, at Education Alternatives in Bedford.
Court records say the student went to Bedford Police back on March 19th with text messages as well as cellphone video of an encounter, and said that Alfred had had sex with him in the school.
Detectives arrested Alfred later that month after obtaining a search warrant and confirming she had a matching tattoo as seen in the phone video. The 38-year-old Alfred was placed on administrative leave by Education Alternatives, a non-profit organization for at-risk youth, following her arrest.
She's currently free on bond, with her arraignment is set for April 25th in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
