East Side Hit-&-Run Takes Life of 68 Year Old Man

CLEVELAND - Cleveland Police are investigating a hit and run that has claimed the life of a 68-year-old man.

According to a police report, officers responded to 3829 East 52nd Street early Sunday morning, for a report of a man struck by a vehicle.  At the scene, witnesses reported seeing the victim and two unidentified men running from the victims home.  

The victim got into his 2008 Silver Ford Escape and hit a parked car while attempting to leave.  He then got out of the SUV and was struck by the suspect's vehicle.  One of the suspects then got into the SUV and both vehicles drove away, leaving the victim in the street.

EMS arrived and took the victim to MetroHealth Hospitals where he later died from his injuries.

The suspects have not been identified. While homicide detectives continue to investigate, Cleveland Police are looking for the stolen SUV with Ohio license plate G-I-S-2-7-2-1.
