(Akron) - University of Akron President Matthew Wilson has decided to re-join the faculty of the university's School of Law, and will step down as university president at the end of June.
Wilson, who recently was a finalist for the president's job at the University of Central Florida, says he feels that U of Akron is on the right track, and that it's time to move aside. Wilson had been the dean of Akron's law school, until he was chosen to be interim president, then was given the job on a permanent basis.
University Board of Trustees Chair Roland Bauer says Wilson giving them four months notice will give the university the time for a smooth transition into a new presidency.
