(Lorain) -- Republic Steel is announcing plans to reopen its Lorain facility. The announcement comes after President Trump signed proclamations imposing tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. The reopening is expected to bring back more than one-thousand jobs to the Lorain plant, which plans to restart its idled electric arc furnace, casters, and rolling mills. Republic Steel representatives say it will take a few months to hire workers and train them.
