(Lakewood) - A man has been shot dead, and a woman is said to be in critical condition, after both were found shot in Lakewood early Friday morning in what is believed to be an attempted murder and suicide.
Lakewood Police say they received a call about 2:30 a.m. to go to a house on Olivewood Avenue, near Detroit Avenue. The caller said his son, 23, had just shot his girlfriend, 21.
Police found the man in a neighbor's backyard. He ran behind another house, and police heard a gunshot. That man was found to be dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, and is in the hospital's ICU.
