The Cleveland Browns recently amended the contract of offensive tackle Joe Thomas to make him the highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL during the 2018 season.
Thomas suffered a torn triceps tendon against the Tennessee Titans, which ended his season. As a result, it became unlikely that he would make his 11th Pro Bowl appearance in as many seasons. If Thomas had made the Pro Bowl, a $2 million roster bonus would have been triggered.
