(Cleveland) - Cleveland firefighters dealt with a death early Monday morning, but it was as they were returning to a fire station.
Shortly after midnight Monday, a ladder truck was being returned to the fire station at Saint Clair Ave. and East 103rd St. Cleveland police say a speeding car crossed the center line on Saint Clair, and ran head-on into the ladder truck, as the truck was coming to a stop.
When firefighters were able to get the driver out of the mangled wrecked 2001 Nissan, she was dead. Cleveland Police say the woman was 41 years old.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police will be investigating why the car crossed the center line and ran into the fire truck.
