(Cleveland) -- Work is underway on a major facelift at Quicken Loans Arena.
Construction crews moved in Thursday to begin transforming the arena into a glass-encased jewel worthy of attracting an NBA All-Star Game in 2020 or 2021. The NBA had given the Cavaliers a deadline to begin the work by September 15 in order to be considered for the All-Star Game.
An attempt to block the $140 million project at the ballot box was killed earlier this month, allowing the work to move forward.
