(Cuyahoga County) - According to Terminix, Cleveland is the worst bed bug city in America.
The extermination company released its rankings this morning.
The list is based on the highest number of actual bed bug services from January 1st through June 30th.
However, Tom Barsa of the Cuyahoga County Board of Health reports bed bug complaints to his agency have been dropping for the past few years, From 144 in 2015 to 90 in 2016, and so far this year only 34 complaints have been logged.
Barsa tells Newsradio WTAM 1100, the county began attacking the problem early on by establishing a Bed Bug Task Force.
He adds that most of the complaints are coming from rental complexes, where the pests seem to migrate from one unit to the other.
On November 2nd, Cuyahoga County is hosting a bed bug conference in Cleveland with experts from around the state.
