(Houston) - Former WTAM 1100 host Matt Patrick's battle with cancer of the esophagus has taken a new turn.
Patrick, who has spent the past six years as morning host on iHeartMedia's KTRH in Houston, announced on Wednesday that he has exhausted all options, and is discontinuing cancer treatments. He also announced that Wednesday's program would be his last program on KTRH. Starting in May, he had been on the station only on an occasional basis.
Before heading to Texas, Matt Patrick filled in on a number of programs on WTAM 1100. Before that, he was a talk host on Akron iHeartMedia station WHLO, and for many years before that, the Cleveland native was the morning host on Akron's WKDD.
Patrick was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus less than two years ago.
