(Cleveland) – Playhouse Square will take on a new look starting this fall, as an upscale 34-story apartment building will be going up, and it should be open to occupants by the year 2020.
Playhouse Square President and CEO Art Falco says this is a continuing attempt to make sure the neighborhood is a vibrant destination in the heart of Cleveland.
The building will go up on a one-acre site currently occupied by a parking lot at the corner of Euclid Avenue and East 17th Street. There will be 319 apartments, 550 parking spaces, and 22,000 square feet of resident amenities.
Playhouse Square says the building will be set apart from the historic buildings along Euclid Avenue, but will have a feel of a theater, with a symbolic marquee, and undulations that resemble a stage curtain.
Playhouse Square will own the property, and a management company will operate it for Playhouse Square.
