(Richmond, Virginia) - The name "East Ohio Gas" is being officially retired after having been a part of Northeast Ohio for 119 years.
According to a news release, the parent company of Dominion East Ohio Gas is changing its name from Dominion Resources to Dominion Energy, and it's changing the name of its Northeast Ohio natural gas company to Dominion Energy Ohio.
Dominion Energy is changing the names of all of its electric and natural gas utilities and other businesses to conform to the new corporate name. Changes in the company website, utility bills, and employee uniforms will be phased in.
According to company history, East Ohio Gas Company began operations in 1898, in Dennison, Ohio, and extended pipelines to Cleveland in 1903.
