CLEVELAND, OH - There will be a special ceremonial first pitch during the Tribe's home game on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14th.
Willowick Native Julie Everett was selected as the 2017 Honorary Bat Girl for the Indians. It's an event that started in 2009 for Major League Baseball fans affected by breast cancer and who continues supporting the fight to end the disease.
According to the Indians, Everett fought her way back after being diagnosed with stage three cancer in 2011. Since then, she's organized fundraisers and helped friends and strangers who are the same position she was once in.
She was nominated by her husband.
