(Lakewood) - There was a home invasion Wednesday morning near the corner of Grace and Franklin in Lakewood, but the burglar was taken down by the homeowner - an off-duty police officer.
Lakewood police say the off duty officer, from another police department, shot the man who broke into his house, wounding him in the shoulder. Lakewood Police also recieved calls from neighbors who heard the gunfire.
The burglar ran off, but was found by police in a yard on Clarence Avenue. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. The burglar has not yet been charged.
