(AVON) - It's a temporary art installation that has people talking. "It's kind of disturbing in some ways, but the more we talked about it the more we thought... 'this is what we need to get people to talk,'" said the Mayor of Avon, Bryan Jensen. The sculpture, which is an unnamed work by artist Ryan Poignon, is a traveling exhibit which is currently on display at the Avon Little League Park on Detroit Road. It also sits near a senior center.
"We think it's working. We have different people talking. Some say 'what does this have to do with anything?' And I say, 'well, you're talking about it,' so we're getting those kind of conversations out there," said Mayor Jensen.
The art exhibit will be on display until March 7th, and a local organization will be passing out letters of encouragement for people in recovery.
