SWAT standoff on the east side is over

(Cleveland) – Cleveland Police say a standoff between its SWAT team and a car at East 23rd and Hamilton is over.   Police say the scene was secured before 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.  Multiple suspects were arrested.  There were no casualties, but one police officer had minor injuries.

Reporters on scene say they saw a SWAT vehicle ramming a car with two people inside who refused to get out.

A WEWS-TV photographer on scene says he had to move behind a building because he heard what sounded like gunfire.

There is no word yet why the vehicle was stopped or what started the standoff.
