Radio Personality Mike Gallagher Has Died

(Cleveland) - One of our co-workers in the IHeartMedia Cleveland newsroom has passed away. Mike Gallagher died on Sunday after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 64 years old.

Mike had been heard on a number of Cleveland radio stations over the years, putting in 40 years ol the air. According to Mike's LinkedIn page, he was with Metro Networks from 1991 to 2009 doing traffic and news reports. Mike then hosted the morning show on 107.3 WNWV from 2009 to 2011. He then joined us at iHeartMedia in 2012, working for the Total Traffic service, doing traffic and news reports, mainly on 1420 WHK with the air name of Mike Kessler. Local radio historian Jim Davison noted that Mike also worked at 92.3 WLYT, 92.3 WRQC, and 106.5 WLTF.

According to his obituary, Mike leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Margaret, stepson William Tracy Blue III, his mother, Arlene, his sister Linda Koprowski, and nieces and nephews. A private internment is being held.
